Great Blue Heron
July 12, 2012
The wetland looks dry due to a rainless summer, but the Great Blue Heron is an expert at finding tidbits to sustain it and its young.
The fishing is heating up in Lake Michigan but people are not the only ones that are fishing. The Great Blue Heron makes its living in the wetlands of the Great Lakes. I have seen their rookeries where they gather to raise their young. This amazing photo was taken by Steve Damstra who knows where to find wild life. He is a professional photographer.
Read more about the Great Lakes and their amazing array of life in my book, The Dynamic Great Lakes. This critically acclaimed book is in its fourth, updated edition and is available on Amazon’s Kindle and in paperback at many independent stores as well as Barnes & Noble and Books a Million.
