Open water attracts many varieties of ducks and geese. We see them every day along the Grand River in Grand Haven, Michigan and on Lake Michigan. Pictured is this very handsome bird. It is a diving duck that feeds on small fish and crustaceans. They find their prey by sight. So you will often see them dive and then after a few moments, pop up to the surface.
