At Sunrise This Morning
January 8, 2011
When I looked outdoors this morning the sun was just rising casting a rosy glow over Lake Michigan. At 8 degree F the lake has changed again. The surface of the water is covered with large chunks of ice that are washed ashore with each wave and ice is building along the shoreline. This will help to keep the sandy beach from eroding. In my book, The Dynamic Great Lakes this process is described in more detail.
