With summer vacations to the Lakes just around the corner, the sixth annual Great Lakes Forever Photo Contest is accepting submissions from May 20 – July 18, 2010. Through the 2010 Great Lakes Forever Photo Contest, photographers can help defend the Great Lakes with their cameras—and get noticed throughout the Great Lakes region.
Biodiversity Project’s Great Lakes Forever program has again partnered with Budweiser to sponsor a photography contest that celebrates the beauty of the Great Lakes through the incredible talent of local photographers. Great Lakes Forever is a non-profit education and activism campaign designed to raise awareness about our vulnerable and valuable Lakes.
The grand prize winner in both the professional and amateur categories will be featured on the 2010 Great Lakes Forever/Budweiser beer coasters. These coasters will be distributed to bars and restaurants throughout the Great Lakes region. In addition to being featured on the 2010 beer coasters, the top three photos in each category will also receive awesome Budweiser prizes.
Interested photographers can visit the Great Lakes Forever website, http://www.greatlakesforever.org, for contest rules and submission details. The submission deadline is July 18, 2010.
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then these photos can make a powerful statement on behalf of our Great Lakes. Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can provide you with more information.

we have a lot of common interests. I’ve sold about 6000 self published books on Lake Ontario going back to my first in 1995 ( used as a college text at Oswego SUNY campus).

My latest area of interest in CAFO’s and pollution- non point pollution is an increasing problem on the lower lakes with blue green blooms, botulism etc. We’ve started up a water sampling program in connection with that. Check out my blog and let me know if there’s a way to do a link swap.
